Statistics say that someone you know, and perhaps it’s someone you love with all your heart, suffers from and will die from a chronic disease … or you do, and you will.
Harsh, but to my dismay, sadly very true.
And what’s worse, you think there’s nothing you can do about it. That because your ‘grandmother and mother’ both suffered from ‘this’ degenerative disease, you were born predisposed, so there’s nothing you can do to save yourself.
Kind of grim, no? Like, what the …. ?
Fortunately it is not entirely true. Yes, you may have been born predisposed to a heritable gene sequence of a particular disease, but the research of epigenetics says you can turn the gene on, or off, with the foods you choose to eat, the thoughts you choose to think and the lifestyle you choose to live.
Epigenetics says that diet and lifestyle can change the expression of your genes.
Say what?
Environmental factors matter.
Research says that if you eat nourishing foods and live a healthy lifestyle, you can impact the way a gene expresses itself.
That means that if you eat a diet rich in 70% live foods and live green vegetable juices, omit foods that cause inflammation and the sequence of triggers they set off throughout your body, you reduce the risk of getting a chronic disease and … you support your highly engineered and highly intelligent body in maintaining balance, so it can help you maintain a healthy weight, wake up energized and excited for the day, think clearly and creatively … and blow the lid off your productivity!
And the good news is, though some might contest this research, you get to choose what you eat. In my mind’s eye, that’s better than no choice at all.
Runs in the family? Epigenetic says you’ve got a choice.
Ignorance is not bliss.
